Agriculture: Bio food and products made in Romanian villages for sale in Carrefour supermarkets

Bio Romania Association and Carrefour Romania signed a partnership to sell countryside-made bio products in the local Carrefour hypermarkets chain, Association chairman Marian Cioceanu says.

The products manufactured by the members of the Bio Romania Association were listed in seven of the Bucharest-based hypermarkets, on July 31, 2013, and starting on this Sept 12, buyers are to find Romanian-made bio food in 19 Carrefour hypermarkets, countrywide.

According to Bio Romania the project was initiated by MEP Daciana Sarbu and Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin.

Likewise, Bio Romania announced the official launch of the brand and logo ‘Rodul Bio Romanesc (Romanian Bio Produce), and hailed the 15 per cent cut in the VAT for bio wheat, flour, and bread and bakery products, for sale both in the Carrefour chain and in all the stores selling bio produce.

Last but not least, Bio Romania announced that the Agency for Payments and interventions in Agriculture (APIA) agreed that the Bio Romania Association should stage taste session for ecological certified products, in 16 Carrefour hypermarkets, throughout Romania, in this Sept. This is to happened in the framework of the programme promoting the growing of ecological produce, in Romania, funded by the European Union, Romania's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) and the Bio Romania Association.

Bio Romania Association of the Ecological Agriculture Operators is the main dialogue partner of the state authorities, it advocates the sustainable agriculture and the development of the Romanian countryside, the education, informing and making consumers aware of the benefits of the ecological faming, both for health and nature, and it promotes excellence in ecological farming.

 

More
