The takeover of Vestmoldtransgaz by Transgaz will be finalised next week
The takeover of the state-run company Vestmoldtransgaz from the Republic of Moldova by the gas transporter Transgaz will be finalised next week, after the clauses of the privatisation contract will be signed, announced on Monday the ministry of economy.’A team of specialists belonging to Eurotransgaz, the company owned by Transgaz in the Republic of Moldova will go at the end of next week to Kishinev for the stocktaking of the patrimony of Vestmoldtransgaz after which in accordance with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to sign the taking over report’ says a press release issued on Monday by the minister.
The signing of the sale-purchase contract for the State Company Vestmoldtransgaz on 28 March by Eurotransgaz, the company set up and owned by Transgaz in the Republic of Moldova and the authorities in the neighbouring country offered the chance to build the pipeline Ungheni-Kishinev,a vital project for the energy security of the Republic of Moldova and established the necessary conditions for the taking over of Vestmoldtransgaz and the beginning of the construction works on the gas pipeline.
The general manager of Transgaz Ion Sterian stated that after the finalisation of the taking over process of Vestmoldtransgaz the next level will be acquisition and construction for the Ungheni-Kishinev gas pipeline, essential for the energy security of the Republic of Moldova.
Eurotransgaz, subsidiary of Transgaz was considered winner of the privatisation process of I.S.Vestmoldtransgaz organised by the premier of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip on 27 February 2018.
A month later, on 28 March, in Kishinev as well, the privatisation contract was signed in an event where the Romanian minister of economy and his counterpart from the Republic of Moldova Kiril Gaburici were present.
