The largest solar park in Romania spreads on a surface of 10 football pitches

Solar energy continues to draw investments,in Chirileu – Mures county the works for the largest photovoltaic park are underway to be finalised. The project placed on a surface of 8 ha of agricultural land, the equivalent of almost 10 football pitches is made up of 15,500 solar panels with installed power of 3.2 MW.

The value of investments is 4.5 million euro, being made by the company Fomco Solar Systems. According to the information sent by the company, the recovery of the investment could take place over the next 5-6 years, taking into consideration the very generous scheme of support for solar energy presented by the Romanian state.

According to the data, Romania had four solar parks with total capacity of 5.2 MW. Outside the park in Mures, the most recent investments in the solar domain were made in Vrancea and Bistrita Nasaud.
