The Competition Council authorised the transaction by which MET Holding of Switzerland takes over RWE Energy
The Competition Council announced on Wednesday that they authorised the transaction through which MET Holding AG of Switzerland takes over RWE Energie SRL.
In June, the energy groups MET and Innogy (Elmu-Emazs) announced the signing of the agreement regarding the acquisition by MET of the company RWE Energie (RWEE) Romania owned by Innogy.As a result, MET reaches the top three suppliers on the competition market of energy in Romania.
Later, the Competition Council announced that they analyse the transaction as this operation is an economic concentration which surpasses the value thresholds included in the law.
MET Holding AG Switzerland is part of the MET Group which operates business which cover trading with natural gas, electricity, oil, LPG as well as the production of electricity with commercial activity concentrated on goods sales on the wholesale market, on the retail market as well as trading.
MET Holding is present on the market in Romania through its branch, MET Romania Energy SA which is active on both markets for the supply of electricity and natural gas.
RWE Energie SRL is active on the markets for the supply of electricity and natural gas.
