Romgaz: new discovery of ore from Caragele could be put into operation in 2020-2021
The new discovery of ore Romgaz from Caragele, Buzau, estimated at about 30 billion cubic meters, could be put into operation in 2020-2021, currently being developed investment for drilling, announced on Wednesday in a press release, the deputy general manager of the company, Dumitru Gheorghe Rotar.
"The discovery Caragele announced a few years ago is not part of the commercial ore Caragele. It is not at the isobath level of the Caragele ore, It is much deeper. At the moment we completed the assessments, we designed probes to evaluate this discovery and, in Q4 and during 2019 we will drill with 6 to 8 wells to assess the potential size of that discovery. (...) So Caragele discovery is not at the isobath level of the commercial ore Caragele, it is not part of the commercial ore Caragele. It's deeper by over 1,000 meters and it might be put into operation somewhere in 2020-2021, "said Dumitru Gheorghe Rotar.
According to the Romgaz representative probes for evaluating the new discoveries at Caragele are very deep, 4,000 meters, they are difficult, but it is expected to fulfill the execution programme at the end of next year.
"We need to build the entire infrastructure for collecting hydrocarbons, we announced the discovery not in billion cubic metres but in millions of barrel of oil equivalent (BOE). It is assumed that there is not only gas and there is a need for infrastructure for the separation of the liquid fraction from the gas one. It is mainly a light oil ", said Rotar.
He said that in the North-East Muntenia ore there is a commercial ore, Caragele, which has been in production for over 10 years.
‘Until now it has produced somewhere about 700 million cubic metres. At present we have investments which mean collecting, binding of the wells which were drilled this year and the previous year so that at the end of the year we anticipate the tripling of the daily production in the Caragele commercial ore’ Dumitru Gheorghe Rotar said.
"Until now produced somewhere in the 700 million cubic meters, currently operate investment means collecting, binding wells, which were drilled this year and last year, so at the end, tripling production anticipated in daily commercial deposit Caragele. a is more than 1.5 million cubic meters per day in commercial deposit Caragele "said Dumitru Gheorghe Rotar.
