Rompetrol extends to Georgia, where they expect business of 200 million dollars, similar to 2011
Rompetrol group,controlled by the Kazahk company KazMunaiGaz opened three new petrol stations in Georgia, reaching a network of 68 units for the distribution of fuel,and estimates to record in 2012 a turnover of 200 million dollars, similar to 2011.
"The consolidation and growth of the presence of Rompetrol products in the region of the Black Sea is our objective for the next period, and the platform created by the group in countries such as the Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Bulgaria, Ukraine will ensure the development and reaching this purpose.
Moreover, the strategy of the company is in agreement with the economy of Georgia, which is reflected in the market, by means of competition and macroeconomic conditions, as well as through regulations such as the lack of biocomponents in the fuel and the level of sulphur concentration" the retail vice-chairman of the group Titov Buzescu stated in a press release. Rompetrol entered the market in Georgia at the end of 2005 and last year they had a turnover of 200 million dollars, level estimated for this year as well, the press release says.
In 2011 Rompetrol commercialised in Georgia by 7.5% more fuel, reaching a volume of 150,000 tons. The company owns in Georgia a deposit of fuel, in Tbilisi, which they modernised following investment of approximately one million dollars.
