‘2017 was a year of growth for Romelectro. We continued to reorganise the company and the group of companies Romelectro, managing more important contracts both in the country and abroad by the higher degree of internalisation of the activities. On the foreign market, we are present in Kosovo and Egypte, where you know we have set up a branch in each country and in Saudi Arabia where we set up a company Romelectro Arabia LLC where we are majority shareholder’ he added.

The Romelectro officials say that on the international market the Romanian entrepreneurs should be supported the governmental environment.
‘The international affairs develop in a strong competitive environment where – in many countries and regions – support on the part of a state institution is essential in getting the contract. It does not matter if the entity which benefits from the support is state-run or private. We have to mention the financial support that a Romanian exporter should have’ Secosan says.
As regards the Romgaz thermal power unit from Iernut, a new group on gas in combined cycle of 430 MW, the biggest greenfield project of electricity promoted and started by a state-run company after 1989, this being ready until 31 December 2019.
‘In Iernut we need 600 – 700 workers, most with high qualification, for example welders. To cover this necessary, we will work with our partners’ Secosan said.
Next year, in Q1, Romelectro will finalise the thermal power station Burullus in Egypte where they build a block of 1,200 MW. Contract in partnership with SAEM Energomontaj. The block has been functioning in simple cycle getting into the system 800 MW.

Another project which we finalise is the electrical power unit Bradu (400/220/110/20kV), an important part of the energy system.
Similarly, in Saudi Arabia the company is qualified at SEC Saudi Electricity Company and is going to get accreditation from other big companies in the kingdom (SABIC, Saudi Aramco)this being the condition to get in competition of contracts.
‘We are watching other works in Egypte, as well as in other countries in the area ex-Jugoslavia, a generous market in energy projects, but at the same time, difficult to get due to the local companies competition’ Secosan says.
