Romanian Nuclearelectrica Renews Another Insurance Contract For Nuclear Reactors

Romanian state-owned nuclear energy company Nuclearelectrica, the operator of Cernavoda nuclear power plant, renewed with UK’s Nuclear Risk Insurers Limited the civil liability insurance contract for nuclear damage at reactors 1 and 2, for a premium of $672,000. Nuclear Risk Insurers was the only bidder for Nuclearelectrica’s insurance contract aiming to cover the damages produced by third parties at the two nuclear reactors, in case of a nuclear accident.
