Romania's net coal production totaled some 3.255 million tonnes of oil

Romania's net coal production totaled, in the first nine months of this year, some 3.255 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), by 5pct (172,600 toe) lower compared to the similar period in 2013, according to the data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). 

In the said period, Romania imported 331,600 toe of net coal, by 57,600 toe (14.8pct) lower than the quantity imported in the first nine months of 2013. 

Romania held at end-2013 coal reserves of 291 million tonnes, according to the statistics of the oil company British Petroleum.
