Romania's coal production stands at almost 26 million tonnes in first nine months

The production of net (processed) coal of Romania stood in the nine months to end September 2006 at 25.921 million tonnes, of which 1.996 million tonnes net pitcoal and 23.925 million tonnes lignite and brown coal. In end September, producers kept stored 145,000 tonnes of lignite and brown coal. In the first three quarters this year Romania imported coal worth 219.7 million euros, down 14.4 percent vs. 2005.
