Romania, Germany, the Netherlands and Finland are the member states that have contributed the most to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of the European Union in 2005 . According to the report published by the European Environment Agency, Germany cut its emissions by 2.3 percent, Finland by 14.6 percent, The Netherlands by 2.9 percent and Romania by 4 percent, which accounts for an overall reduction by 0.7 percent for the Union.
