Romania joined the initiative to use hydrogen as energy source, a project of Austria
The minister of energy Anton Anton signed for Romania ‘ the Initiative of Hydrogen’ which was launched by Austria and which means the development of research and innovation in the domain of technology of the use of hydrogen as a source of energy in the future, announced on Friday the minister.
The technology of hydrogen use can be used in the domain of electricity storage, fuels in transport and industry, and through the signing of the proposal Romania pledges to continue involvement in the sector of research and innovation as regards the use of hydrogen as a source of energy, the press release says.
According to the minister the document means the development of the research and innovation in the domain of technology of the use of hydrogen as well as the strengthening of the regional collaboration for the exchange of technological expertise and for the best practices in the domain.The minister of energy Anton Anton participated between 17-19 September 2018 in Austria (Linz)in the informal Council for Energy and the Conference ‘ Charge forChange: Innovative Technologies forEnergy-Intensive Industries’ during which the 28 countries present at the conference discussed the integration of renewable energy and the contribution of innovative technologies to reach this objective. On this occasion Austria which has the presidency of the European Union launched this initiative inviting the member states to join this action which will lead to the development of technologies through which to insure the better integration of renewable energy in the electricity grids,as well the use of hydrogen in transport, storage and industry.
The presidency of the Council makes it sure that all member states of the EU every six months get leadership and Romania will take the presidency starting with 1 January 2019.
