Renewable energy facilities hit an aggregate 5,127 MW capacity at the end of November 2015, shows data centralized by power grid operator Transelectrica.
Thus, there were four wind farms with a capacity of 3,129 MW connected to the system, the capacity of photovoltaic parks was 1,312 MW, micro-hydro power plants accounted for 583 MW and biomass energy projects had a cumulative capacity of 103 MW.
The capacity installed in the system was less this November than the 5,180 MW renewable energy installed as of October 31. The most substantial decline was for wind farms that dipped from 3,186 MW in October to 3,129 MW in November.
At the end of 2014, renewable energy production capacities connected to the system stood at a combined 5,200 MW, said Transelectrica.
According to a Government Resolution adopted on December 30, this year's mandatory quota of electricity produced from renewable sources that benefit by promotion through the green certificates system was set at 12.15 percent of the final gross energy consumption, up from the 11.9 percent set for 2015.
This percentage keeps the impact of the mandatory quota in the consumer's bill at some 35 lei/MWh, in line with the level of 2015, preventing unjustified costs from translating into the bill, said the authorities.
The approved mandatory quota for 2016 envisages the achievement of the national targeted share of the renewable energy of the final gross energy consumption, and was established based on the scenarios referred by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE). According to the Government's Resolution, the target will be attained by limiting green certificate sales by renewable energy producers at 60 percent of the total value of issued certificates.
