Production of gold and silver in the mine of Manaila – Suceava: Vast Resources started testing

Vast Resources started the first tests for the processing of precious metals, gold and silver in the mine in Manalia. The company estimates that they will be able to extract monthly approximately 30 tons of gold and silver concentrate starting with May 2017.

Thus, the British add a new type of concentrate processed in the Suceava mine, reaching a total of 3 products: copper, zinc, gold and silver.

‘The modality of processing of the new type of concentrate is  environment-friendly, as it does not include any chemical substance. The domestic precious metals are present in the residue resulting in the process of  extracted ore manufacturing and are separated from the rest of the materials in a process which means crushing and centrifugating’ the company says.

‘We had experts last year in the mine of Manaila who found solutions to separate the zinc and copper concentrate but they also found the potential to separate the gold and silver one. Thus, we will be able to have this year an important production of gold and silver concentrate every month’ stated Andrew Prelea, executive manager and chairman of Vast Resources Romania.

Besides the processing of the new type of concentrate, the company has many expectations as regards the quantities of copper and zinc concetrates extracted monthly, as they  estimate important increase.

Vast Resources was set up at the end of 2005, with the activity in the domain of mineral ore exploitation in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Starting with  May 2013, Vast Resources included Romania with a view to developing the business strategy. The company uses the newest technology for exploitation, such as spatial data management software, 3D visualisation, the new geophysical modelling techniques and elements of risk management.
