Primary energy resources down 15.2 percent in H1 2013
Primary energy resources dropped 15.2 percent January through June 2013, while the electricity resources dropped 6.9 percent, according to data released on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Thus, the main resources of primary energy in the first half of the year totaled 14.652 million tonnes of oil equivalent (tep), down 2.631 million tep compared with the first half of 2012.
Domestic production totaled 10.572 tep, down 7.6 percent compared with the first half of 2012, while imports stood at 4.079 million tep, down 30.2 percent.
The INS data also showed that Romania imported by 45.6 percent less gas, by 26.5 percent less crude oil and by 20.4 percent less coal.
Imports of electricity slumped 53.5 percent and those of oil products 27.9 percent.
