Minister Lucia Varga: We have Danube Meadow revamping as priority
Minister Delegate for Waters, Forestry and Fisheries Lucia Varga in Constanta (south-eastern Romania), on Thursday said that she has as main priority the revamping of the Danube Meadow, with European funds going to be employed in this respect.
'Our main priority is revamping the Danube Meadow, a project that will be conducted with European funds. We chose a mixed solution, we shall keep and consolidate the dams in the inhabited areas and in the areas with efficient farms, we shall also setup polders, but we shall also preserve wetlands. The project will be developed with European funds,' Varga underscored.
The Minister had a meeting with the mayors and the county authorities with whom she talked on aspects related to the urgent implementing of some environment projects.
Lucia Varga also said that during the visit to Constanta she will identify, together with the County Council President, plots of land for afforestation, for these investments already existing money earmarked from the budget.
