Iohannis promulgated Law 120/2019 meant to facilitate Transelectrica’s investments
President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, promulgated Law 120/2019 on some measures necessary for carrying out the works and implementing projects of national importance regarding the transport electric network. The law facilitates the realization of vital investment projects in Romania’s energy security, facilitates the construction of aerial power lines and compliance with the deadlines for projects with European funding, Transelectrica announces.
“The law promulgated today by President Iohannis has an essential role in strengthening and expanding the power transport infrastructure throughout Romania. Effects will be seen mainly in aerial power lines, where the authorization process was cumbersome, and effective line construction was often hampered by bureaucratic processes. That is why we have harmonized the various legislative provisions to facilitate the implementation of investment projects. We congratulate all the professionals from CNTEE Transelectrica SA, who contributed to achieving this huge goal for the good functioning of the National Energy System,” said Marius D?nu? Carasol, president of the Transelectrica’s Directorate.
In the absence of specific derogations, the legislation previosuly in force could have not had provided the legal framework necessary for the implementation of projects of national importance for the electricity grid.
