Hidroelectrica organizes for the third time tender to upgrade Vidraru installations
Five participants entered the race for Vidraru, Hidroelectrica announced on Tuesday. The 82.15 million euro contract will be auctioned for the third time.
The participants are : Voith Hydro Gmbh & Co KGAustria, Romelectro Litostroj Engineering, GE Hydri=o France SAS – Elecnor, Grid Solutions Romania, Gulsan Insaat Sanayi Turizm Nakliyat Ve Ticaret Association, Zhefu Holding Group. The evaluation commission will analyse and evaluate candidacy documents.
“We are talking about upgrading with special technical complexity of a strategic objective from Hidroelectrica portfolio. We want to select the best solutions and implement the latest technology for Vidraru. We will observe quality demands. The procedure is flexible, allowing our company to obtain the most advantageous technical solutions . Works will be financed from company sources and we hope to obtain a new life span of at least 30 years for Vidraru,” said Bogdan Badea, the president of Hidroelectrica.
The selection procedure for Vidraru upgrading resumes for the third time, previous purchases being canceled because they did not correspond from the technical point of view.
Vidraru plant is located on the right bank of the Arges river, north of Capataneni village, in a cavern located 104 m below river level. For its installed power of 220MW (four 55MW Francis turbines), the plant is very important for SEN as it participates in checking the frequency-power.
The main components are Vidraru dam, derivation, and plant. The dam is 166 m high and creates an accumulation of 320 million cubic meters.
The company planned investments of 532.03 million lei for 2019.
Hidroelectrica estimates total incomes of 3.51 billion lei this year, at a gross profit of 824 million lei.
Hidroelectrica has 3,500 employees, is 80% controlled by the Romanian state through the Energy Ministry. The other shareholder is Property Fund. The company exploits 208 plants with a total power of 6,116 MW.
