Five offers for the construction of the Tarnita hydropower station
The company Hidro Tarnita which has tried for several years to draw investors for the construction of the hydropower station for over 1 billion euro in Cluj county received on Friday offers from five investors who are interested by the project.
‘Five companies presented preliminary offers corresponding to the stage of pre-qualification for the development of Tarnita-Lapustesti. In the next weeks we analyse the documents presented to verify if all elements agree with the provisions of the selection procedure. According to the principle of transparency, the list of investors will be published after the analysis of the documents, to get into the next phase of the pre-qualification stage, that of negotiation’ stated in a press release Ovidiu Demetrescu,the general manager of the Hidro Tarnita, project company.
This is the first phase of the selection of investors – the five companies having presenting the documents for the pre-qualification stage.Demetrescu added that Hidro Tarnita received letters of intention on the part of international financial institutions with a view to financing the project.
The leadership of Hidro Tarnita estimated,last year, that construction works will start in the first part of 2016 and will last between 5 and 7 years. The unit will be built at 30 km away from Cluj-Napoca, on the valley of the SomesCald.The unit includes four groups of 250 MW each.
The shareholders of Hidro Tarnita are Complexul Energetic Oltenia, SAPE Electronica,Nuclearelctrica and Complexul Energetic Hunedoara,each with 25% of the shares.
