Bulgaria starts today the construction of the gas interconnection with Romania
The construction of the Bulgarian part of the interconnection between the gas networks of Bulgaria and Romania will start on Thursday. The first digging will be made in the presence of the Bulgarian premier Boiko Borisov, the minister of economy and energy Delian Dobrev, the leadership of the Bulgarian company Bulgargaz. Romania will be represented by Liviu Pintican, the deputy general manager of Transgaz, informs the press office of the Bulgarian government in a press release sent Agerpres. The total value of the project is almost 24 million euro, out of which 9 million is ensured by European funds, the co-financing of the Bulgarian part is 11 million of euro, and the rest has to be ensured by the Romanian company Transgaz. The total length of the pipe between Ruse and Giurgiu will be of 25 km, out of which 15.4 on the Bulgarian territory, and 2.1 km under the Danube.
