*The British government plans to invest over 375 billion pounds in infrastructure in the next twenty years
Energy experts from across Europe will meet at the Lobkowicz Palace in Prague next month to outline the latest trends in the energy sector and discuss mutual business cooperation. The GREAT Energy Summit, to be held on October 22 and 23, will bring together those responsible for CEE energy investment programmes and the British companies that can provide them with the solutions they need.
The British government plans to invest over 375 billion pounds in infrastructure in the next twenty years. Morethan two-thirds of this amount will be for securing a diverse and reliable energy supply for the UK. This providesan exciting opportunity for CEE companies, and the ongoing modernization of this sector in Central and Eastern Europe creates major opportunities for both UK and CEE businesses.
„Great Britain sees the CEE region as one of the key regions for the development of mutual cooperation. Energy opportunities are the largest high-value opportunities of any sector in CEE,” says Jonathan Allen, British Ambassador to Bulgaria.
The GREAT Energy Summit guests will discuss many issues in nuclear, oil and gas as well as alternative energies. “The representatives of British companies will have a good occasion to discover the opportunities and potential of this region. The British delegation will also invite local companies to invest in the UK,” says Paul Taylor, Regional Director for CEE at UKTI.
The Summit will take place over two days, with a plenary session involving keynote speakers, a panel discussion, thematic roundtables, one-to-one meetings and a business networking event. Baroness Verma, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Energy & Climate Change, will be the key guest of the summit. Other speakers include Jan Mladek, the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade; Jonathan Allen, the British Ambassador to Bulgaria; Tom Jones, Vice President of AMEC, and others.>>
