ANRE certified by December 2015 renewable energy facilities with 4,662 MW in aggregate installed capacity

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) had certified by December 2015 renewable energy facilities with 4,662 MW in aggregate installed capacity, shows a document posted on the institution's website.

Of the total, wind farms account for 2,931 MW, photovoltaic parks - for 1,296 MW, waste-to-energy projects represent 106.5 MW, micro-hydro power plants with less than 10 MW each account for 327.8 MW (new plants - 228.8 MW; retooled plants - 85.5 MW; old plants - 13.5 MW)

There are 70 operators certified for the production of wind power, 514 for solar power production, 89 for hydropower and 25 for biomass and biogas power production.

At the end of November 2015, renewable energy facilities in operation had reached an aggregate 5,127 MW capacity, shows data centralized by power grid operator Transelectrica.

There were four wind farms with a capacity of 3,129 MW connected to the system, photovoltaic parks with a capacity of 1,312 MW, micro-hydro power plants accounted for 583 MW, while biomass energy projects had a cumulative capacity of 103 MW.

According to a Government Resolution adopted on December 30, this year's mandatory quota of electricity produced from renewable sources that benefit by promotion through the green certificates system was set at 12.15 percent of the final gross energy consumption, up from the 11.9 percent set for 2015.
