Volume of work in farming exploitations by 41.7 pct lower, in 2010 vs. 2002

The volume of work in the farming exploitations got 41.7 percent lower, in 2010 compared to the results of the General Agricultural Census (RGA) conducted in 2002, read the RGA 2010 final results, National Statistics Institute (INS) made public, on Monday.

The work volume in annual work units (UAM) represents the volume of work one person carries out in the agricultural exploitation in a full work- time equivalent, during 254 working days a year, 8- hour work a day.

According to INS the work volume in the individual farms amounted to 1,515 million UAM, while the agricultural companies with legal personality totaled 96,000 UAM, in 2010.

Both in the farming exploitations without legal personality and those with legal personality, UAM dropped by rd. 42 percent compared to that recorded during the General Agricultural Census (RGA) conducted in 2002.

The agricultural exploitation is the self-standing technical economic unit having one single management and conducts farming activities, breed animals or keeps cropland in a good state in terns of farming and environment irrespectively of t is a main or a secondary activity.
