Trade: The  watches market of Romania could  grow up to 10% this year

The watches market  of Romania reached last  year the value of approximately 80 million euro and the advance of this year is estimated at 5-10% stated for News.ro  the general manager of the retailer WatchShop.ro, Dragos Diaconu.

He said that the Romanians have become,over the last years  more attentive to season and they are interested to follow the trend  when they acquire watches, trends which are observed in the case of sales,  in the summer period, the preferences of the Romanians going towards the casual-sport watches –the ‘holiday’ ones.

Thus,  in the summer, the Romanians prefer  special watches for swimming, for outdoor activities and those shock-resistant,accessorised with textile-straps or silicon ones which stand sweat and water drops.

The budget for the acquisition of a summer watch can vary from 150 lei,for a simple sport watch, without any functions up to some thousands  of lei, depending on the activity which the user does (watches with complex functions, for diving or extreme sports,for example).Statistically speaking, the average price of a watch bought from WatchShop.ro during the summer is approximately 500 lei.
