Agriculture : The ministry of agriculture: the pike roe salad  of Tulcea has received national protection

The produce pike roe salad of Tulcea  has received national protection of the systems in the domain of quality, according to European and national legislation, shows a press release sent on Friday by the ministry of agriculture and rural  development (MADR).

‘The right of use of the national logo as well as the right to trade produce of class 1.7 fish, moluscs, and fresh shellfish and  produce derived under the name of Pike Roe Salad fromTulcea goes exclusively to the producers or processors in the geographic territory of Tulcea county- which observes the provisions in the specification and are under  control and certification of a Body of Inspection and Certification acknowledged by the ministry of agriculture and rural development’ MADR says.

The pike roe salad  of Tulcea is specific  through the recipe, the raw materials, ingredients and preparation method and according to the traditional recipe  it has a specific proportion of 29% roe,made up of at least 15% pike roe and 14% of Delta fish.

MADR says that Romania has four produce registered on European quality systems out of which three Protected Geographic Indications (IGP):  Magiun de prune Topoloveni (Plum jam Topoloveni), Salam de Sibiu (Sibiu Salami), Novac afumat (Smoked Novak)from Tara Barsei and Telemea de Ibanesti ( Feta-type cheese of Ibanesti) which is registered on the quality system Protected Origin Denomination (DOP).
