Trade: Romanians, European consumers with fewest online purchases
Romanians are European consumers with fewest online purchases and almost the last who access music, video materials, banking and video services on demand, but are also the citizens for whom the state allocates the least money for information as consumers - 0.01 bani to educate a consumer, said Costel Staicu, the president of Pro Consumer Association (APC).
According to the annual index calculated by the European Commission, which includes indicators of digital performance and competitiveness, presented by APC, Romanians are European consumers with the fewest online purchases. Only 56% of Romanians use the Internet compared to the EU average of 76% and only 28% of Romanians exceed the lowest digital competence level, compared to 79% in EU.
APC organized a round table discussion “Say YES to online trade!”, on the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day, as part of the national consumer information and education campaign “Know your online consumer rights”.
