Tourism: The HoReCa industry needs long term relaunching measures
Uncertainty continues to dominate the HoReCa industry after more than one year since the beginning of Covid-19 and for a long term it is necessary to have relaunching measures for this sector which could be an engine of the economy in the years to follow, shows a material made by Camelia Malahov, manager Direct Taxes and Anca Preda, senior consultant Direct Taxes, Deloitte Romania
According to the consultants, the sector of hospitality (HoReCa)is an important pillar of the Romanian economy, which contributes almost 5% to GDP and ensures more than 4% of the total of the employees with work contract. The sector is one of the domains which was and continues to be much affected by the pandemics Covid-19. The measures adopted by the state to support the sector were welcomed, but the experience of other countries shows how they could be improved, say the representatives of Deloitte Romania.
The material speaks about the exemption from the specific taxes for HoReCa, facility which operates to the end of the first quarter of 2021. The tax is fixed sum and is not influenced by the turnover.
Among the measures included in this plan we have the obligation of the buildings owners to lower the rent for the companies in HoReCa by individual negotiation of the contracts, shows Camelia Mahalov and Anca Preda.
