Tourism: Romanians place Black Sea littoral first in top of 2016 holiday preferences
Romania, Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey are leaders in the preference lists of Romanian tourists in 2016, according to studies.
Romanians who will spend their holidays travelling, prefer western Europe, northern countries, Asia Minor (Turkey), Far East and Baltic countries. According to the study made by Edelweiss Travel Agency, the Romanians’ top of exotic destinations includes Thailand and the Caribbean (Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico).
“In Romania, if people receive holiday vouchers they will go to the Romanian Black Sea coast which attracts many tourists who had given up this destination. I foresee a slight increase of tourists in Transylvania, especially in the fortress area. Bulgaria remains the star of foreign destinations for low and medium class. Greece will continue to grow and Romanian tourists will test other areas than the already known ones. The number of Romanian tourists will also grow in Austria and Germany. In my opinion, Montenegro and Albania will receive more tourists compared to last year,” said Florentin Mocanu, general manager of the travel agency.
As for early bookings, Edelweiss Travel shows that the evolution will be better than last year. Most Romanian tourists and especially those who do not expect to get holiday vouchers will use the early booking system. But, since it is an election year many people will not be able to plan their vacation a long time before.
