Tourism: Romania ranks 68th in the world for tourism competitiveness according to WEF
Romania ranks 68th in a classification about tourism competitiveness in 140 countries published in the 2013 report of the World Economic Forum – WEF, according to the site www.weforum.org. In the previous report of 2011 Romania ranked 63rd.According to WEF, based in Geneva, the first 10 countries are Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Great Britain, USA, France, Canada, Sweden and Singapore. The last country is Haiti.
At European level, Romania ranks 35th of 42 countries evaluated, the last on the list being Moldova.
Top 10 in Europe includes Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Great Britain, France, Sweden, Holland, Iceland and Finland.Bulgaria ranks 50th in the world and 31st in Europe.
The 140 states included in the report are ranked according to 14 indicators about competitiveness in tourism, such as law, sustainability in environment policies, the health and hygiene level, infrastructure for transports, human, cultural and natural resources.
