Cars: BMW Motorrad launches new motorcycle version R 1200GS in Romania

The BMW motorcycle division BMW Motorrad launched BMW R 1200GS model in Romania on Friday at a price of 16,384 euro, VAT included, at the same time with BMW HP4 for circuit competitions. BMW R1200GS has a boxer engine with water cooling system, made for the first time after 90 years of the Munich concern.“We expect to sell tens of new models recently launched this year. In 2012 we sold 300 500 cu.cm motorcycles in Romania”, the manager of Motorrad Automobile Bavaria, Emanuel Stefan declared.

The builder of R1200GS, an aerodynamic shaped motorcycle and tires adapted both for highways and endurance roads, brought important changes for engine rotation speed and transmission system, which are significantly different from previous classes.

Emanuel Stefan said that investments in participating to endurance races can reach up to 100,000 euro for motorcycle, equipment and accessories.
