Tourism : Investors asked for grants of 285 million euro, exceeding budget
The Payment Agency for Rural Development and Fishing (APDRP) received over 17 April – 16 May over 2,000 requests to finance rural tourism through PNDR, the grants of 285.6 million euro requested exceeding the available budget of 186.5 million euro.
Projects presented refer mainly to investments in tourist infrastructure (1,317 projects) , recreation (528 projects) and for information centers and tourist marking (161 projects).
Most financing demands came from the north-west area - 468 projects of 80million euro. Requests have in view measure 313 of the National Program for Rural Development (PNDR).
“Important amendments have been made about profit generating investments, of which the most important is the increase of the financing percentage with grants. In case of agro-tourist pensions, the grant was for 70% of eligible expenses, which now grows to 85%. The maximum level of financing also grows from 70,000 euro to 100,000 euro per project,” APDRP shows in a press release.
At the same time investment projects which have in view recreational activities benefit from grants for 85% of eligible expenses, a level which has grown from 50%. In this case the maximum financing level is 200,000 euro.
