Tourism : 1.203 million tourists in Bucharest in 2011

There were 1.203 million tourists registered in the main accommodation places in Bucharest, according to the data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics.

The most check-ins were reported in September, namely 122,322 and the fewest in January, 75,941.

The accommodation index ranged between 21.1 and 36.4 percent.

There were 7.002 million tourists registered in Romania in the accommodation places last year. The Romanian tourists' check-ins accounted for 78.4 percent and those of the foreign tourists, 21.6 percent.

The accommodation index in 2011 was 26.4 percent for the total number of accommodation places, 1.1 percent more than in 2010. There were higher accommodation indices at hotels (31.6 percent).
