Telecom.IT : Vodafone to launch first LTE (4G) network in Romania on October 31, 2012
The mobile telephony operator Vodafone Romania on October 31, 2012 is to launch the first LTE network in Romania, which will make it possible to deliver 4G services, informed Vodafone Romania.
The Vodafone customers will be able to test the 4G services at data download speeds up to 75 Mbps in several cities before the commercial launch of the LTE services, which will take place early next year. Starting in 2013, Vodafone Romania will offer 4G services at speeds up to 100 Mbps.
The LTE network of Vodafone operates in the 1,800 MHz frequency band and was implemented with Huawei equipment. Romania is one of the first European countries in which Vodafone launches the LTE services after Germany and Portugal.
