Telecom.IT: Half Romanian IT market working with Microsoft technology
Half the Romanian IT market is working with Microsoft technology, which means over 400,000 firms, said Marius Filipas, who is responsible for Microsoft Romania servers.
'50 percent of the IT market uses Microsoft. There are in the neighbourhood of more than 400,000 firms in Romania working with Microsoft technology. We are connected to everything that happens in the Romanian market', Filipas said.
Romanians are well appreciated by Microsoft company, and serving proof of it is the fact they are the employees who succeed in advancing fastest to top positions worldwide , he added.
'One of the Romanian products that are incorporated in Microsoft products is the Romanian anti-virus solution purchased from Gecad company some time ago. It is a Romanian product. And one of the criteria Microsoft looked at when acquiring this product was that the number of the Romanians at Microsoft, as a community, is the one advancing fastest to the Microsoft positions. The Romanians working at Microsoft are highly gifted', the official underscored.
Filipas said the Romanian information technology specialists' community is one of the strongest worldwide.
'The Romanian Microsoft community is a very strong one worldwide. We speak of developers, of business. They are fellows of ours, are project chiefs; IT in Romania is a stake we have set strategically, as a country. There are very many firms in Romania interested in this topic', he underscored.
'There are very many companies from outside the country that come and develop software centres in Romania, because we have a very good IT school', Filipas explained.
