Telecom.IT: Coface: Romanian IT distributors' turnover down 5 percent in 2013
Over 1,260 companies operating in IT distribution in Romania generated a turnover of 5.2 billion lei in 2013, down 5 percent compared to 2012, according to an analysis published on Tuesday by Coface Romania.
In 2013, the average revenue per company was 22 percent lower compared to the one recorded before the onset of the financial crisis, in 2008, but at the same time, the net outcome of 2.4 percent registered at sectoral level in 2013 was the highest in the past ten years.
On the other hand, 68 percent of companies posted a positive net result for 2013, and for half of them the profits are on the rise.
Compared to 2012, one in three companies operating in the sector of distribution of IT products and software recorded a negative working capital, the majority being small and medium-sized companies. As for the indebtedness degree, it declined to 74 percent in 2013 from 82 percent in 2012.
The analysis also reveals that 15 percent of the examined companies put an end to their activity, with an average of 10 years of activity, a cumulated turnover of 313 million lei, and total debts of 336 million lei.
Coface individually examined 210 IT providers that generate 85 percent of the total turnover recorded by the entire sector.
