Telecom. IT: Romanians likely to spend 20% more for new smart phones
Romanians will be likely to spend 10-20% more this year for smart phone, but also have higher expectations, while producers will continue to improve devices this year, such as DSLR, optic zoom and increased autonomy, according to the statement made by Lucian Peticila, CEO of Visual Fan, the owner of the local smart phone brand of Allview smart phones and tablets.
Romanians spent last year 823 million euros on mobile phones, the biggest segment of goods sector analysed by GfK Temax report.
When choosing a smart phone, most clients want a performing product with pleasant design, but also pay attention to the quality-price ratio. In this context, the fight between competitors in technology will be harsh in 2017.
Although there are no spectacular expectations this year for the smart phone market, Allview estimates a 10% increase of the business figure, as a result of the consolidation of the market share in this segment.
In 2016 Allview sold over 1.5 million devices, of which mostly smart phones. The company recorded last year a business figure of 60 million euros, and estimates 66 million euros this year.
Allview also estimates increases in the foreign markets, where investments have been made in past years. It has an estimated market share of 10% in point of number of units sold, the CEO informed.
