Infrastructure: Design and construction of Braila-Tulcea bridge auctioned in May-June
The design and construction of the bridge between Braila and Tulcea counties will be auctioned until the end of the semester, premier Sorin Grindeanu announced in Tulcea, on Friday.
“Braila-Tulcea bridge is included in Master Plan and the feasibility study will be completed soon. The transport minister told us the documentation is almost ready and in May-June the design and construction of the bridge will be uploaded on the electronic public supply system SEAP”, the premier said.
The construction will cost about 500 million euros, to be paid from the budget allocated by the Operational Program Large Infrastructure to the financial mechanism Danube Delta Integrated Territorial Investments.
The erection of the bridge across the Danube is one of the oldest projects announced by authorities from Braila, Tulcea and Galati counties for which several feasibility studies have been made until now.
Through ITI Danube Delta, communities in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation, 29 communes in Tulcea county, four communes in Constanta county, Tulcea municipality and four towns in Tulcea county - Babadag, Isaccea, Maci and Sulina- benefit from over 1 million euros over 2014-2020. The amount comes from all operational programs and based on projects, can be accessed only by authorities and juridical persons in the Reservation. This approach for a single area is new in EU. According to the efficiency of this mechanism, authorities will decide whether they will repeat this experience in other areas in Romania.
