Telecom. IT: Mobile phone accessory market in Romania will grow by 10% in Romania this year
The Mobile phone accessory market will grow this year by at least 10% in volume, compared to last year, mainly as a result of higher smart phone sales, Costin Soare, the operational manager of Avenir Telecom French group declared for News.ro.
The Romanian mobile phone accessory market exceeded 10 million units last year, according to Avenir Tlecom estimates, the distributor of phones, mobile phone accessories and telecommunication services.
At the same time, another market tendency is the users’ orientation toward brand products, to the detriment of no name products.
The Avenir Telecom estimate takes into account the number of smart phones sold, which gets close to 4 million units, each new phone bought generating the purchase of at least two accessories. To that are added mobile phones already existing in the market, which generate additional purchases of accessories meant for protection.
Another tendency offering opportunities in the accessory market us changing the way of using a smart phone, used more and more to surf the Internet. This supposes higher energy consumption and the need of accessories such as car chargers, external batteries and charging cables. Romanians prefer protection accessories in the fashion category and answer their need to protect and personalize their phones.
The development of the accessory market for mobile phones was backed by big smart phone manufacturers at world level, who paid great importance to accessories, next to GSM operators and retailers who counted on a lower price strategy in Romania, compared to the ones used in other countries in the area, according to Avenir Telecom.
