Telecom. IT : Facebook accounts: 8.3 million Romanian users in November

 The number of Facebook accounts has currently reached 8.3 million among Romanian users, up by 1.22 percent from the last estimation conducted in November last year, show the data centralised by Facebrands.ro, the service monitoring the Romanian pages created on the social network. 

Among the total number of users, 93.57 percent (7.76 million persons) set their residence city, and most Facebook account users are from Bucharest, namely 2.10 million persons (27.09 percent of the total), followed by those of Timisoara (320,000 persons, 4.12 percent), Cluj-Napoca (250,040 persons, 3.22 percent) and Iasi (250,000 persons, 3.22 percent). 

At the opposite end, with the lowest number of Facebook users, are the towns of Beius and Aiud (with 11,000 persons each, namely 0.14 percent of the total) and Campulung Moldovenesc (10,250 persons, 0.13 percent of the total). 

According to the Facebrands statistics, the persons aged between 18 and 24 (23.1 percent of the total) access Facebook most frequently. The following places in terms of the frequency of accessing the Facebook network are occupied by the persons aged between 35 and 44 (20.4 percent) and those aged between 45 and 54, and people between 13 and 17 years of age (with 10.3 percent each). 

Men hold the largest share among Facebook users, with 61.32 percent of the total number of accounts, while women have 38.68 percent of the accounts. In terms of civil status, married persons are ranked first (62.86 percent), followed by single persons, with 25.44 percent of the total accounts number. 

In the ranking of the most clicked on Facebook pages, Oreo is on the top position for the first time, with 38.5 million fans. The next places in the ranking are taken by Zara (19.9 million fans) and singer Inna, with 12.07 million fans. 

Facebrands.ro is the website monitoring the Facebook pages created by persons and institutions (companies, NGOs) and showing the increase in their number of fans in days and weeks, along other pages of the same category.
