The biggest office building tenants in the Capital are HPO (32,000 square meters), Romtelecom-Cosmote (28,000 sq.m.) and UniCredit (28,000 sq.m.) according to a ZF analysis, based on data supplied by Colliers company consultants which show that 20 companies and banks have rented more than 10,000 sq.m each in Bucharest.
On the overall, 20 firms rented 360,000 sq.m representing about 20% of modern offices in Bucharest and pay rent of 60 million euro/year, according to ZF estimates.
Petrom, the largest company in Romania, as well as BCR and BRD, the largest banks, are not part of the tenants’ top, as they carry out their activities in buildings they own.
Now there are 300,000 sq.m of empty offices in Bucharest and landowners struggle to attract and maintain tenants. The most dynamic firms have been in the IT and telecommunications field - Oracle, IBM, Ericsson or Electronic Arts which are the biggest tenants in Bucharest.
