Real Estate: Residential building permits go up 5.1 per cent in April

Over 3,370 residential buildings construction permits were issued in April 2014, by 5.1 per cent more than in March, but 6.2 per cent less compared with April 2013, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Wednesday.
The building permits for the rural area represented 59.1 per cent of the total number of authorisations issued in April.

Since the beginning of the year until April 30, a number of 10,339 construction authorisations were issued for residential buildings, registering a 1.2 per cent decline from the first four months of 2013.

The distribution on a regional scale shows an increase in the number of construction authorisations for residential buildings in the development regions as follows: Bucharest-Ilfov (+102 authorisations), South-Muntenia (+91), North-East (+49), North-West (+24) and Centre (+14).

Decreases were registered in the following development regions: West (-54 authorisations), South-West Oltenia (-33) and South-West (-28).

On a year-to-year comparison, April 2014 with April 2013, there is a decline in the number of construction authorisations issued for residential buildings (-222 authorisations), reflected in most development regions.

The most significant decreases were registered in the North-East (-137 authorisations), South-East (-95), South-West Oltenia (-53) and West (-50).

On the other hand, increases were witnessed in Bucharest-Ilfov (+173 authorisations) and in the North-West (+8).

In the first four months of 2014, compared with the first four months of 2013, there have been drops in the number of construction authorisations in the following development regions: South-Muntenia (-197 authorisations), North-East (-194), South-West Oltenia (-121), Centre (-113) and South-East (-9).

Increases were registered in Bucharest-Ilfov (+388 authorisations), West (+69) and North-West (+49).
