Orange Romania gets #1 network certification for best mobile internet, voice from LCC
Orange Romania obtained a certification from LCC International that attests it has the best network when it comes to the performance of voice and data services in Romanian metropolitan and rural areas.
Conducted between 27 November and 20 December 2017, the LCC comparative survey analyses the performance of the main 4 telecom operators in Romania and compares mobile networks from the point of view of voice and data services in different scenarios. The study was conducted nationwide in 32 metropolitan areas of the country (over 150 localities) and on the connecting roads. The route on which the tests were conducted was independently and randomly chosen by the auditor without prior notice from the operators.
In related news, rival Vodafone Romania also obtained the best scores for voice and data following mobile network performance tests conducted by German company P3 Communications between 23 November and 16 December, 2017 in over 40 locations.
The LCC measurements analysed performance parameters of voice and data services such as Voice over LTE, Voice over 3G & 2G, web page browsing, YouTube video streaming, as well as HTTP upload and download services using 16 compatible smartphones with 4G + / 4G / 3G / 2G networks.
The resulting data showed that Orange ranks first in most tests as measured by the audience benchmark as well as by comparison with other competitors.
In December, over the course of the LCC tests, an increase in data traffic was recorded by 84 percent compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the average usage per end-user at the network level was 76 percent higher over the same period.
