London, Barcelona and Milan, cities preferred by Romanians’ travels in September 2015
The Romanians chose mainly Europe as destination for their end of summer vacation this year. London, Barcelona and Milan are preferred for trips in September 2015, according to a study made by an online travel agency.
Romanians’ vacations vary between European cities with rich history and culture (48.64%) and beach destinations (17.24%). For September travels, London ranks first in the top (9.40% of preferences), followed by Barcelona (4.36%) climbing four places in the top and Milan (3.90%). The top of cities preferred by Romanians, according to a eSKY.ro study, is completed by Paris (3.67%), Rome (2.98%), Madrid (2.52%), Brussels (2.29%), Dortmund (1.83%), Dublin (1.61%) and Larnaca (1.38%).
For September 2015, the average length of the holiday grew from 2 to 4 days, compared to last year, while the average price was 235 euros against 209 in 2014. The lowest price of 40 euros, was paid by a Romanian who will travel from Bucharest to Malmo while the most expensive ticket of 1,131 euros was booked for a person who will spend his holiday in New York. Travelling preferences for flights by low-cost companies , a solution fir for European city-breaks has remained constant, while flights by line air companies were chosen especially for long distance flights where comfort is necessary, the study sent on Tuesday shows.
Romanians want to travel and discover big European cities, famous for their rich cultural heritage. They include Florence and Pisa (Italy), Frankfurt am Main and Cologne (Germany), Liverpool and Edinburgh (Great Britain), Vienna (Austria), Zurich (Switzerland) and Prague (Czech Republic).
For relaxation on the beach, Romanian travellers chose Palma de Mallorca (SPain), Naples, Bari and Sicily (Italy), Salonica, Crete, Corfou and Kos (Greece), Larnaca (Cyprus), Antalya (Turkey), Split (Croatia), Lisbon and Funchal (Portugal), Luqa (Malta), Nice (France) and Tel Aviv (Israel).
As a result of international tendencies to discover cities underestimated until now, Romanian travellers focus on Balkan destinations, Scandinavia and Baltic countries. 2.07% of Romanian travellers will spend their holiday in cities like Belgrade, Stockholm and Vilnius.
Apart from the majority who chose Europe, 1.77% of Romanians will go to other continents for this holiday, USA, Singapore and China holding pride of place in the top of transcontinental trips.
For hotel reservations Romanians paid an average of 431 euros for a sojourn in September. This year people preferred to the invest in quality hotel services and chose 3,4 or 5 star hotels.
The most popular destinations for accommodation are Antalya (15.79%), Prague (15.19%), Dubrovnik (10.53%), Dubai (10.53%) and Aya Napa (10.53%).
