Infrastructure: The feasibility study for the highway Sibiu-Pitesti will be finalised until 15 December 2016
The feasibility study for the construction of the highway Sibiu-Pitesti will be finalised until the end of 15 December of this year, and the projection and the execution of the works will be started after the finalisation of the document, shows the press release of the National Company for Highways and National Roads of Romania.
The press release reminds the fact that the new estimated deadline for the putting into value of the highway sector is 2021.
The works contract for the highway Sibiu – Pitesti will be finalised from the Operational Programme for Big Infrastructure (POIM) 2014 – 2020.
‘Taking into consideration the draft for the highway Sibiu-Pitesti CNADNR SA placed for public debate for the first time the draft for road infrastructure at the FS stage (feasibility study) regarding the choice of the best variant for the route. This operation had as a purpose to know and eliminate the possible problems of environment, land geomorphology, archaeology, which could lead to alterations of the draft. The present stage of the draft is that of the alternative selection of the route. The best variant of route will result after the multicriteria analysis is finished on the basis of the criteria applied to the studied variants, technical criteria,environment, socio-economic and financial criteria respectively’ the quoted documents say.
According to this, CNADNR organised public debate with regards to this topic in the three interested counties,Valcea (23 November 2015), Arges (26 November 2015) and Sibiu (3 December 2015) respectively.
The ministry of transport Dan Costescu stated at the end of February at PROTV that the new deadline for the opening of the highway Pitesti – Sibiu is 2021, against 2023 as it was initially after the specially designed unit for the implementation of the draft found solutions for the new deadline, while for the head sectors the use will be possible before this date.
Approximately 8,000 people took part in a meeting organised by the Autoturisme Dacia trade union for the support of objective of national interest, such as the speeding up of the building of the highway Pitesti –Sibiu.
