Infrastructure: Record traffic at Otopeni and Baneasa airports, Bucharest

Bucharest National Airport Company recorded, in the first 6 months of 2019, at Henri Coanda International Airport Bucharest and at Bucharest-Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport an air traffic of 6.85 million passengers and 69,687 aircraft movements.

The number of passengers who transited the two airports in semester 1, 2019, recorded an increase of 8.7% against the same period of 2018, being included in the general European tendency, according to a CNAB press release.

There was also an increase of the number of aircraft movements, exceeding the first 6 months of 2018 by 7.5%.

Henri Coanda Bucharest Airport recorded 6.85 million passengers, with an increase of 8.19%, while at Aurel Vlaicu Baneasa Airport there was an increase of  25%, with a total of 12,644 passengers recorded since the beginning of the year.

As for the number of aircraft movements, the two runways of Henri Coanda Airport recorded 59,037 landings and takeoffs,  while at Baneasa Airport there was an increase from 7,000 in the first semester 2018 to 10,657 landings and takeoffs in 2019.

57 air companies operate on Henri Coanda Airport at present, carrying 128 destinations.
