Infrastructure: Number of passengers grows by 11% on two Bucharest airports
The two Bucharest airports, Henri Coanda (Otopeni) and Aurel Vlaicu (Baneasa) registered an air traffic of 7.037 million passengers in the first 9 months of the year, on the rise by 11% compared to 2014.
7.033 million passengers were registered on Henri Coanda airport.
CNAB, the Bucharest Airport National Company which administers the two airports, estimates that there will be more than 9 million passengers this year.
In the first 9 months, the number of airplanes that landed or took off on Bucharest airports grew by 6% compared to 2014, to 81,776.
The two airports recorded 8.32 million passengers last year, and there were 102,048 take-offs and landings.
31 air companies operate at present on Henri Coanda airport and they transport passengers to 70 places of destination.
