Infrastructure: Investments of 70 million lei to modernize three Danube ports
Giurgiu port complex, next to Bechet and Corabia ports, administered by the Administration of Danube River Ports will be modernized with investments of 70 million lei.Technical-economic indicators financed with money from the budget and foreign funds are included in three projects elaborated by the Transport Ministry.
The first investment has in view hydro-technical works in Giurgiu port complex, has an estimated value of 23.2 million lei and will last 18 months.
Projects in Corabia and Bechet ports will cost 23.8 million lei and 22.8 million lei and will last 27 months at Corabia and 33 months in Bechet.
The National Company Administration of Danube River Ports Giurgiu is owned by the Ministry of Transports (80%) the difference being controlled by Property Fund.
Ports administered by the company can administer a traffic of 15 million tons annually, the most important ports being Cernavoda, Calarasi, Oltenita, Giurgiu, Corabia, Bechet Calafat and Dorbeta Turnu Severin.
