Harghita: Mineral water the best exported product in 2013

Export operations registered by Harghita Customs Office exceeded import operations in 2013, an analysis made by the office shows. According to statistic data, 4,668 customs operations were recorded in Harghita in 2013, of which 3,617 were exports and 1,051 imports.

Firms from Harghita export mainly mineral water to countries like Canada, USA and Moldova, timber to China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey, furniture to USA and Norway.

Other exported products include steel scaffold to China, clothes to Switzerland, sewing thread to Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Turkey and Tunis and beer to Macedonia.

Imports include farm machines and tires from China or refrigerators from China and Turkey. Thread is imported from Turkey, India, China, Thailand and Indonesia, cotton from Turkey and paper items from Serbia. There are also aluminum alloy pipes from Switzerland, aluminum profiles from Thailand or wood furniture from Serbia.
