Foreign tour operators, interested in Romania's offer: city breaks, the Bran Castle, the narrow-gauge train, the salt mine of Turda and the Parliament Palace

The representatives of foreign tour operators present in the international travel fair FITUR in Madrid are very interested in Romania's offer, particularly in tourism products related to nature, active and adventure tourism, city breaks in major cities, the Bran Castle, the narrow-gauge train, the salt mine of Turda and the Parliament Palace, Raluca Anghel, director at the National Authority for Tourism (ANT), said.

"Many come and ask what are the main tourism attractions in Romania, and when these are presented to them, they say they cannot visit them in a seven-day holiday. Our message is that Romania can be discovered 365 days per year. Those interested in city breaks in Sibiu, Brasov, Iasi and Bucharest are increasingly more. Of course, they are interested also in Transylvania and everything related to Dracula," she related.

The ANT is participating January 20 to 14, 2016, in the 36th edition of the international travel fair FITUR (Feria Internacional de Turismo), held in Madrid.

"Romania is present with a standard stand that is promoting tourist destinations such as Bucharest, Timisoara, Targu Jiu, Apuseni Mountains and the narrow-gauge train. Of course, Transylvania has a special place at Romania's stand, based on the fact that the region ranks first among the places recommended by the famous travel guide Lonely Planet to be visited in 2016. We do not forget Bucovina, Maramures, the seaside and salt mines. We are promoting absolutely all travel packages at the ANT stand at FITUR, given that here there are the many travel agencies selling packages for Romania," said Anghel.

At FITUR, the ANT is promoting mainly Transylvania and the activities related to the project '2016 - Brancusi Year'.
