Foreign investors hold some 100,000 ha of wood in Romania

Foreign investors have come to hold some 100,000 hectares of wood in Romania, i.e. 1.5 percent of the country's forestry area, according to Ziarul Financiar daily's estimates based on data from relevant players. The latest purchases have been made by German investment fund Nordcapital, which bought 1,200 ha, and Austrian group Holzindustrie Schweighofer, which bought 5,000 ha at Bicaz (north).
